What's the key to getting the most miles and bang for your buck out of your vehicle?

A quality make and model, obviously. That's a good start. But arguably just as important as this is making sure that your vehicle is regularly serviced based on the manufacturer recommendations. We're talking oil changes every 3,000 miles, tire rotations every 6,000, front and rear end alignments, transmission flushes, fuel line cleaning, regular under-the-hood maintenance to ensure that everything is running smoothly and much more. It's a lot for the average person to remember, which is why Volvo offers Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance on any 2012 or 2013 vehicle model that's sold as new and registered in the U.S.

It's a stress-free and no cost way to stay on top of the maintenance that your vehicle needs in order to ensure a long use life. What's more is that Volvo drivers won't have to worry about a dishonest mechanic trying to sell them on something that they aren't sure is necessary at a regular oil change or can't afford, because it's all covered by Volvo. Specifically, Volvo's Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance will cover the first three services at no charge to the owner at 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 miles for newer 2013 year models and will cover the first four services at 7,500, 15,000, 22,500 and 30,000 for 2012 year models. It's worth mentioning that servicing will conclude at either three years or up to 36,000 miles for both 2012 and 2013 models and that all regularly scheduled maintenance checks must be completed at a certified Volvo dealership in order to qualify for the maintenance program.

Like what you're hearing about Volvo's complimentary factory scheduled maintenance program but drive an older Volvo model? Or just want to be able to extend maintenance coverage for more miles? There's an optional additional plan for you. Yes, you can add more coverage by upgrading to a Volvo Optional Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program, available on Volvo vehicle models from 2007-2013. Two upgrade plans are offered with this - at an additional cost that you can discuss with your dealer at the time of purchase - that will cover your Volvo model up to 100,000 miles. These plans are pre-paid maintenance, where you'll pay up front for maintenance and servicing check-ups, and pre-paid maintenance with wear item checkups, where your tires, struts and other things that wear and deteriorate over time will be checked during service calls. As we already stated, the upgrade programs come at an additional cost and aren't "complimentary" like the standard factory scheduled maintenance plans that are offered for three years or up to 36,000 miles on 2012 or 2013 new Volvo models, but such plans are still ideal for any driver that's serious about driving their car for an extended period of time.

Maintaining your vehicle is important, as failure to do so can turn small problems into bigger, more expensive ones or reduce the driving life of your car altogether. That's where Volvo's Complimentary Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program comes to play - it works for you to cover the first few initial service checkups so that you don't have to worry about them.
